The show starts with a big surprise as we promised. Afrobeat heavyweight, Femi Kuti resumes on the show in his former capacity as a judge. The three-time Grammy nominee left the show for a brief period to embark on a world tour. During this period, HIP-HOP STAR, Naeto C filled in for him as guest judge. However, tonight, we were indeed pleased to see Femi.

Also, sadly, seven contestants from the last group of 10 were evicted, leaving only three to continue in the competition as part of the Top 12.

Before the eviction however, Ill Rymz quickly brings us up to speed on which contestants have made it through so far. Safeeyat, Vicci, Debbie Rise, Immaculate Victoria, Joe-Emmal and Kome are the first set of contestants already in the Top 12.

Afterwards were short clips from the contestant’s auditions and their journey so far just before Funmi from Alexander Forbes handed Ill Rymz the envelope containing the results of the day.

First contestant to make it through is Amara who sang Destiny’s Child ‘Say my name’. And the first to leave is G-Circuit, then Abasiakan, Kesy Drizy, Joseph Page, then Peter whose performance the judges called mediocre. Next to leave is Michael, while Efezino becomes the second contestant to qualify to the next stage. Jay feel is the last contestant to make it to the Top 12 while Bimi bows to eviction.

The three contestants that will be joining the 9 contestants that have made it through are Jay Feel, Amara and Efezino.

Next episode is the much anticipated Wild Card episode where the judges bring back some of your favourite contestants who have already been evicted from the Top 30 for another shot at making it to Top 12. Can you guess who the judges will ask to come back?
