The show at the Top 30 stage is indeed an intriguing one. First we had a new judge, Naeto C who dazzled the audience with his strict judging style. Then we had the first set of ten contestants battle it out and give their best performance for your votes.
First the contestants rendered a group performance of ‘We are the world’ by USA for Africa. The judges said they looked stressed and urged them to work harder on their facial expressions.
Up next was Byno who performed Ne-yo’s hit single ‘So sick’ to which Naeto C had this to say ‘your suit is too tight’. His voting number 501
Safayat was with a rendition of Jennifer Hudson’s ‘And I’m tell you’ to which all three judges commended. Her voting number is 502.
Next was Sosy Cole who sang an old school classic ‘Inseparable’. Jeffery didn’t feel the power. Yinka said she did well but still had a lot of work to do. Her voting number is 503.
Afterwards, Modele performed Whitney Houston’s ‘All the man I ever need’ that apparently didn’t do it for Naeto C but did it for Jeffery who advised her to work on the use of the mic. Her voting number is 504.
Okey Jazz performed Kelly Rowland’s ‘breakaway’ that also apparently didn’t do it for Naeto C but was amazing to Jeffery. His voting number is 505.
Ovo sang Alicia Key’s ‘try sleeping with a broken heart’ afterwards that drew her rave review from all three judges, her voting number is 506.
Next was Vicci who sang a Brain Adams classic that also secured rave reviews from the judges. His voting number is 507.
Deola did Rihanna’s ‘Umbrella’ for which Jeffery said she did not do Rihanna proud. Her voting number is 508.
Azuka sang Justin Timberlake’s ‘What goes around’ and all three judges sang his praises. His voting number is 509.
To close the night was, Debbie Risa who performed her interpretation of Rihanna’s ‘Umbrella’ and also ended her performance in a split that Naeto C insisted was unnecessary. Her voting number is 510.
