ABUJA is the seat of power and hence the melting point of the nation's political and social development, it's conveniently located in the centre of Nigeria (FCT). Abuja is a planned city, and was built mainly in the 1980s. It officially became Nigeria's capital on 12 December 1991, replacing Lagos. At the 2006 census, the city of Abuja had a population of 776,298.. Abuja has played host to several cultural performances and displays over the years in and this is a reflection of the enormous talent which abounds in the city. Abuja has produced great talents over the time and still continues to do so. Darey Art Alade is one of the musical talents to have come out of Abuja and he made an impact on the music scene in Nigeria and beyond. Abuja has a lot more to offer and it is an ideal location to find a true idol.

Port Harcourt is an Igbo city and the capital of Rivers State, Nigeria. It lies along the Bonny River and is located in the Niger Delta. According to the 2006 Nigerian census Port Harcourt has a population of 1,382,592. Port Harcourt was renamed by Frederick Lugard after Lewis Vernon Harcourt in 1913 who was the Secretary of State for the Colonies. This oil rich city of Port Harcourt is also going to play host to the most popular reality show in Nigeria. We can't wait to see what our Port Harcourt peeps have for us. Port Harcourt is home to great Nigerian singers among whom are Duncan Mighty, Frank D'Nero and many more. Noteworthy of mention is the fact that Mercy Chinwo, the winner of Nigerian Idol season II is from Port- Harcourt.

OWERRI, the capital of Imo State is set in the eastern heartland of Nigeria. Owerri is approximately 40 square miles (100 km2) in area. The Owerri Slogan is 'Heartland' and it became a capital city as a result of the creation of Imo state by the Federal Military Government on February 3, 1976 during the General Murtala Muhammed regime. Owerri over the year have passed down various ceremonies from generation to generation. These ceremonies are usually characterized by singing and dancing. This city is currently referred to as the entertainment capital of eastern Nigeria and our dear Yeka Onka, the first Nigerian Idol is from Owerri Could this be an indication that the next Idol will be from this city? Only time will tell.

Benin City, is a city with an average population of about 1,147,188 and the capital of Edo State in southern Nigeria. It is a city approximately 25 miles north of the Benin River. It is situated 200 miles by road east of Lagos. Benin is the centre of Nigeria's rubber industry, but processing palm nuts for oil is also an important traditional industry. This South-South city of mythic origins attached to Oranmiyan is famed for its large collections of ancient artifacts, historic books, museums and heritage site like the Oba's Palace, Igun Street, famous for bronze casting and other metal works for centuries. Other attractions include various festivals and the Benin Moats (measuring about 20 to 40 ft), the famous King's Square on Ring Road and its traditional markets. These festivals are usually accompanied by traditional singers from different part of the city singing to the amazement of everyone present This ancient town will be one of the host cities for this year's audition and we hope to find the perfect one.

Lagos is a city with a population of 7,937,932, it is currently the second most populous city in Africa after Cairo, and is estimated to be the fastest growing city in Africa, and the seventh fastest growing in the world. Lagos is the economic capital of Nigeria. Lagos is the entertainment hub of Nigeria, little wonder the auditions for previous season have witnessed enormous turnout of contestants. A lot musical shows, award ceremonies take place in this city and also not forgetting, it is home to majority of Nigerian musicians and entertainers. The voice of tomorrow could emerge from this city.
